About BackupDrill
What is BackupDrill?
BackupDrill is a disaster recovery tool for Supabase that backs up your database and Storage files together, then runs scheduled restore drills to verify the backups are restorable. It writes to your own S3, R2, or B2 bucket, and provides a graded report with restore time.
Problem it solves
Standard Supabase backups restore only storage.objects metadata, not the actual files — leaving you with broken pointers. BackupDrill snapshots both, and tests restores automatically to avoid silent failures.
Who is it for?
Ideal for Supabase developers and teams who need reliable disaster recovery, whether for compliance, peace of mind, or saving on expensive PITR. Not suited for non-technical users or those without a Supabase project.
Real use cases
Use BackupDrill to automate weekly restore tests, verify storage integrity, and get alerts if a snapshot shrinks or fails. Perfect for production apps with critical data.
