About SnapState
What is SnapState?
SnapState is a Chrome extension that captures the exact state of a web application—including rendered UI, route, viewport, redactions, comments, console summary, and network summary—into a single shareable link. It replaces scattered screenshot threads with a focused review artifact that carries the context needed to discuss and debug issues.
Who is it for?
SnapState is built for product managers, QA teams, support agents, designers, and engineers who frequently share screenshots to discuss stateful SaaS applications. It’s ideal for teams that need to convey exact app context—such as role, route, filters, and feature flags—without exposing sensitive data. It is not a session replay or video tool; it focused on snapshots of current state.
Real use cases
PMs capture confusing onboarding states, QA shares intermittent bugs with route and network context, support escalates customer issues after redacting private fields, and design reviews staging UI at a specific viewport. Each use case preserves the state and diagnostics that normally get lost in static images.
Pricing and beta
SnapState is currently in beta with simple pricing: request beta access for a limited number of workspaces, snapshots, and collaborators. The goal is to test the workflow without a procurement project. Future team and enterprise plans will be based on snapshots, seats, workspace size, retention, and security controls.
Key features
- Exact app state capture — Preserve rendered UI, route, viewport, and state so teammates see the exact moment.
- Redaction-first sharing — Mask sensitive values before upload to keep authenticated context safe.
- Diagnostic context — Attach selected console and network logs so engineers can skip devtools screenshots.
- In-viewer comments — Discuss the captured interface with annotations and keep teams aligned.
- Browser metadata — Include environment details that help recreate or understand the state.
- One-link review — Share a single snapshot link instead of a thread of images and messages.
