About CalConnect
What is CalConnect?
CalConnect is a Google Calendar synchronization tool that mirrors events across multiple calendars in real time. Instead of manually blocking time or double-booking, CalConnect automatically places 'Busy' blocks on destination calendars whenever a source calendar has an event — so your work calendar never sees your therapy, side hustle, or personal appointments.
Who is it for?
It's built for people running more than one life: day job plus side hustle, career and family, or agency and solo practice. It's not designed for team scheduling or cross-platform (non-Google) sync—it focuses on Google Calendars only.
How does it work?
Connect up to five Google accounts (using OAuth, so credentials never touch CalConnect's servers), mark which calendars are sources (real events) and which are destinations (for 'Busy' blocks). CalConnect then registers push notification channels with Google, so changes mirror within seconds. Recurring events expand cleanly, and deleting one instance only removes that mirror.
Real use cases
Keep a consulting side gig hidden from your 9-to-5, shield family appointments from work colleagues, or ensure agency client calls never clash with personal commitments—all without lifting a finger after setup.
Key features
- Real-time sync — Google pushes changes to CalConnect instantly; no polling, mirrors within seconds.
- Bidirectional mirroring — Mark multiple calendars as sources; events flow both ways, so work blocks personal time and vice versa.
- Privacy-preserving 'Busy' blocks — Only custom label and color are mirrored; event title, attendees, description, links, and location never leave the source calendar.
- Recurring event support — Expands weekly, monthly, and custom recurrence rules; deleting one instance only removes that mirror.
- Custom labels & colors — Rename 'Busy' to 'Personal', 'Focus', 'Kids', etc., and choose a color for each source.
- 90-second setup — Sign in with Google, pick source and destination calendars, and you're done.
